Facebook users can post 360 degree photos on their newsfeed after an announcement from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg earlier today.

Zuckerberg says “Today we’re starting to roll out 360 degree photos worldwide across Facebook… you can tilt your phone and feel like you’re actually there. You can also check them out in virtual reality for a fully immersive experience”.

Users can take a panorama or a 360 degree image directly from their smartphone camera or any third party app such as 360 photo or 360 camera and upload it to Facebook as a regular image. Facebook will automatically convert it into an immersive 360 photo.

The 360-degree photos are easy to identify in your News Feed as they will have a compass icon on the right-hand side of the photo. The 360-degree photos can be viewed by clicking and dragging on the web and tapping and dragging the photo or by moving the device on a smartphone.
